APK Consultancy was founded in 1995 as a closed corporation consultancy to offer T&D services and facilitate business and development contact between international organisations with various African counterparts or markets.

This initiative led to the consultancy being recognized by UNESCO in 1999 with the prestigious Award for Best Online Service in Africa for its role in promoting African development networks. These contacts have since led to a number of projects throughout the continent.

In early 2004 the Consultancy’s mission was revised to specifically address the need to assist international business organisations wishing to find new markets in Africa, obtain information about such markets, or require support with trade and commodity brokering.
